DB6, also known as DIN 1.2714, is a hot work tool steel with excellent toughness, wear resistance, and high hardness. It is particularly well-suited for applications involving high temperatures and mechanical stress, such as forging dies, extrusion dies, and die casting. This nickel hot work tool steel produced by Toolman has good hardenability, wear resistance, thermal fatigue resistance, and thermal stress resistance, good strength at high temperatures, and good tempering resistance.
Steel Properties
-
Good hardenability
-
Extreme high temperature strength
-
Uniform hardness over sections also at big dimensions.
-
Resistance under impact loadings.
-
Good strength and toughness
-
Good tempering resistance and dimensional stability.
-
Tools can be water or air cooled.
