MELTING, CASTING AND REMELTING
The scrap and ferro-alloy are melted at high temperature based on the composition needs and refined sequentially. They are bottom cast into ingots or electrode.
The remelting can improve the cleanliness, segregation, and material characteristics of molten steel. The ingots made from electrode using electro slag remelting (ESR) can be used to produce functional materials.
- Capacity - 12000 MT / Annum
- Ladle Furnace (LF)
- 5 ESR (Extra clean and Uniform Steel, No Macro Segregation, Extra Fine Grain, Fine Carbide distribution especially in High Speed Steels and H13 1.2344, Extra Polishability and Good Hot Workability )
Monitoring
We constantly monitor our steel making process and introduce regular improvements through our in-house Research & Development team.
Quality & Control
We use high quality, clean recycled steel scrap, in combination with the latest visualisation and monitoring systems.
This provides high levels of control over temperature and steel making additions to guarantee a high purity final product with very low residual elements.
Our melt shop regularly produces steel grades where quality and performance are of the utmost importance due to their critical applications.
